Rover Graber P6: deep aubergine finish, stunning custom red leather interior
The Rover P6 Graber is a very rare and elegant custom version of the Rover P6 series, rebodied by the Swiss coachbuilder Graber. Around 1965, Herman Graber took delivery of a Rover 2000 saloon and had his artisans rebodied it into a refined two-door drophead coupe, showcasing Graber's famed design expertise. Only about three of these Graber P6 Coupes were made, all surviving but their current locations are not widely known. The modifications involved a significant redesign above the midline of the car to create a distinctive and classy coupe. Graber was a well-respected coachbuilder, known also for work on Rolls Royce, Bentley, and Alvis before fading into obscurity after Herman Graber's death in 1970. The Graber Rover P6 is remembered as a masterful blend of Rover engineering and elegant Swiss coachbuilding, but it never saw wide production or adoption
